Google Pay works on:
- Smartphones with Android 9 or later
- Tablets with Android 9 or later
- Smartwatches with Wear OS 2 or later

Safety
Paying with Google Pay is just as safe as paying with your credit card. The only difference is that you don't need your physical credit card anymore. Use your smartphone, smartwatch or laptop instead. And with facial recognition, your fingerprint or access code, confirming your payment is safe and quick. It's important that you hide your smartphone or smartwatch's access code when you unlock it or pay with it. This is to make sure that no one can see it.
No, you don't need your PIN. You only need to unlock your Android device with facial recognition, your fingerprint or access code. If you make contactless payments with your smartwatch, use your smartwatch's access code. Make sure that your device's access code is different from your credit card's PIN.
No, that's not possible. In order to keep your payments safe, you need screen lock on your device.
No, only people whose face or fingerprint is saved on your device, or people who know your access code, can use your device to pay with Google Pay.
This is why it's important that your device only recognises your face or only has your fingerprint saved. It's also important that no one else knows your access code.
No, unless someone else has saved their face or fingerprint on your device, or if they know your access code. Can someone else unlock your phone through facial recognition or their fingerprint? Remove this person’s details in your settings, so that only you can pay with your device.
Make sure you also keep your access code secret and use different codes for your credit card and device. This way, you will make sure that only you can pay through Google Pay.
Your smartphone or smartwatch is your payment method when paying via Google Pay. The same safety measures apply for your device as for your physical credit card. If your device is lost or stolen, take the same measures as you would for your physical credit card to prevent fraud.
