Lost your Visa credit card during a business trip? Request an Emergency Card or Emergency Cash

It can happen to anyone. You are abroad on a business trip and your business credit card gets lost or stolen. What should you do? If you have a Visa business credit card, you can request an Emergency Card or Emergency Cash. This allows you to keep paying your business expenses through your business credit card. You can continue your business trip without worrying about how to pay or having to claim expenses afterwards.

Keep your credit card safe

It is important to keep your credit card safe when travelling on business. This means storing it in a safe place, checking regularly that you still have it and making sure you receive your own Card back after making a payment. Even so, your credit card could still get lost or stolen while you're abroad. Visa offers the Emergency Card and Emergency Cash services for situations like these.

Important information

  • The maximum amount available through Emergency Cash is € 1,000 for the Visa World Card Business and ICS Visa Corporate. The maximum amount for the Visa World Card Business Gold is € 2,000. The amount you receive depends on the remaining balance within the company limit and your Card limit.
  • When you request Emergency Cash, Visa charges the amount to your credit card in US dollars. The money you receive is converted into euros. As a result, the amount shown on your statement may differ from the amount of Emergency Cash you receive.
  • A 4% cash withdrawal fee and a 2.5% exchange rate surcharge apply to Emergency Cash.
  • The Emergency Card and Emergency Cash services are available in almost all countries, except for countries with sanctions. Read more about the countries with sanctions.
  • Some companies do not allow their employees to make cash withdrawals. Some have also blocked payments abroad. In these cases, you cannot request an Emergency Card or Emergency Cash.
  • When you request an Emergency Card or Emergency Cash, we block your lost or stolen credit card for security reasons.
