International Card Services BV (ICS) is the leading credit card specialist and largest credit card provider in the Netherlands. ICS has more than 25 years' experience of issuing, promoting, managing and processing Visa and MasterCard transactions. We also offer customers a range of other financial services, such as insurance products and credit facilities. In addition, ICS facilitates a large number of co-branded credit card programmes. These Cards offer customers the same level of convenience as all the other credit cards of ICS. ICS originated from the Netherlands-based activities of the Bank of America, the first bank in the world to issue credit cards. Following its withdrawal from the Dutch market, the Bank of America sold its credit card division to VSB Bank. In 1990, VSB merged with AMEV and the AG Group to become Fortis. ICS is an independent subsidiary of ABN AMRO Bank (Nederland) N.V. In 2005, European Merchant Services took over the merchant acquiring services of ICS.
ICS holds a banking licence from De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB). In addition, ICS has been granted licenses by the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) to offer credit and savings accounts, and to provide intermediary services with respect to insurance policies. ICS is registered in the registers of both the DNB and the AFM, whereby all the relevant licenses have been entered into the records.
